If you want to try something a bit different for the bottom of your hamper, you could use some festive fabric to make liner – all you need is your Christmas fabric, some elastic, a sewing machine and our handy guide showing you how to sew a basket liner. Making your own Christmas hamper is not only a fun and creative craft activity, but it can also be a more cost-effective way of gifting during the holiday season. Whatever your level of crafting skill, if you enjoy making things, you’ll love putting together a festive hamper for the special people in your life.

This hanging basket is great for small towels or toiletries in the bathroom or mittens and hats in the closet. Only took one skein of super bulky yarn according to the designer Ashley Collings. The great thing about making hampers is that there are no hard and fast rules, so you can do whatever you like to make your hamper as special and unique as the person you are gifting it to. The mosiac colorwork of this basket is easy to knit because you only use one color at a time and makes the basket sturdier. Line with plastic to help hold the shape. Designed by Margie Dougherty. Step Seven: Stitch around the perimeter of your circular base so that your stitches are about 1/4″ from the edge. Repeat the process with the canvas pieces. When it comes to choosing a hamper, there are a few things to consider. Firstly, think about the size of the hamper and what you want to put inside it – you can go as big or as small as you like. Step Eight: Now we’re going to join the printed cotton piece with the canvas piece. Find the seam on each tube and match them up so that the right sides of each piece are facing each other. Pin together.
