About this deal

It consists of two distinct storylines that are distinguished by their temporal relationship, and which have 62 chapters and seven volumes. Unfortunately, the movie takes up the story of the manga from start to finish. It finishes just like the manga. Shōya’s next big clash with Naoka is when she forces him to encounter Kazuki Shimada at the amusement park, trying to see if the two will talk. Naoka believes that she’s a lot like Shōya in wanting to repair past relationships, though she fails to recognize how different her approach is from him. Shōya becomes even more upset when Naoka takes Shōko on the ferris wheel to have a serious talk, the latter returning with a blemish on her cheek. He realizes that she got violent with Shōko and confronts her about it, though it ends with Naoka yelling that it has nothing to do with him before leaving the park in anger. Unfortunately, for the fans of this movie, we have sad news. It seems that the continuation of the story will not happen at all. But you never know, maybe the leaders of the film industry will be able to pleasantly surprise us this time. Antonio D'angelo (August 14, 2017). "Review: Koe no Katachi (2016)". Our Culture Magazine. To show a counter example, 86 was also manipulative, it almost shouted at you who to like and who to dislike, but it had action and a cinematic feel rarely found in anime series, giving other reasons to like it. Of course I don't think Silent Voice should contain action, that would be absurd. At twelve years old, Shōya was rather unkempt and often came home wet or dirty. He is of average height and weight for his age, although slightly taller than his friends Kazuki Shimada and Keisuke Hirose. His head appears slightly shorter compared to his future self, though still retaining a pointed face and chin. However, Shōya proves himself to be a kind and empathetic person at his core, becoming very close with several people he would have never expected himself to. He’s passionate about the people he cares about, often willing to disregard himself if it means helping them or making them happy, best seen in his bonds with Shōko and Yuzuru Nishimiya. The one and only “A Silent Voice” movie concluded on a really nice note and there does not appear to be a follow-up to it. Unfortunately, Yoshitoki Ōima had created seven volumes of the original manga seriesand that’s it.Many elements have been transferred from the book to the movie, to make it. There is currently no source for the story to continue in a sequel.

Manga is an excellent resource for people who want to read the story, but even if you’re interested in the story, we strongly encourage you to read the manga instead. These additional scenes were included in the manga, even though they couldn’t be incorporated into the movie because of time limitations.

A Silent Voice is an anime drama film directed by Naoko Yamada (K-On!). Based on the manga of the same name by Yoshitoki Oima, it is a touching and affecting story of one's struggle for redemption. Tomohiro proves himself to be a really kind and loyal friend, though he can also act rather pushy and possessive at times. In particular, his behavior surrounding the film he’s making for the amateur contest can really irritate Shōya, who is made to do a lot of grunt work despite not even wanting to be involved at first. Despite this, the two get along really well and are able to easily reconcile their differences after Shōya wakes up from his coma. Warning: this is not a detailed breakdown that takes everything into account and try to be as objective as possible, it's a personal opinion. I share it with you to to explain my score and for people who might feel similarly.

In Japan, the film received a terrestrial television premiere on August 25, 2018, at 9:00 PM through NHK Educational TV and it received an audience rating of 2.5%, according to the video statistics. [52] It was aired on July 31, 2020, at 9:00 PM through Nippon TV's Friday Night Roadshow amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, along with Akiyuki Shinbo and Nobuyuki Takeuchi's Fireworks. [53] Reception [ edit ] Box office [ edit ] At its core, this film is about a new student that comes into a school, who just so happens to be hearing impaired. Ishida, the school bully, taunts her to the point of tears, for audiences as well. Without ruining the impact of certain scenes, I'll just say that his actions were quite Risqué. I found myself absolutely hating his character, which was very frustrating, due to the fact that the film asks you to sympathize with him on multiple occasions. After growing up and leaving his harsh ways in the past, these two characters reconnect, forming a highly unlikely bond. A Silent Voice asks for your acceptance almost too often, but trust me, if you're in the forgiving mood, this film turns out to be extremely powerful. So that's the warning I must give you, that if you're not ready to be forgiving of a terrible actions, I'd wait until you're in the right mood to watch this movie. Jesus Christ, this movie is so sad, yet also strangely heartwarming. I was in tears throughout most of the movie. I found myself rooting for Shoko and eventually Shoya as well. I think this movie should be a requirement for children in school, as it shows the consequences of bullying and that there is redemption even for a bully. objectivity doesn't exists. Our past experiences will always influence our decisions (to a certain extent). And that's the case with Silent Voice too. I was thinking about why people love Silent Voice so much. I have two ideas: they had a similar first hand experience and they can relate to the characters and the story. Or, they didn't have experiences that could hinder their enjoyment on the show. As for the second theory, I had such experiences. So what if it's a little manipulating? It's still a beautiful story!" you might say. The thing is, Silent Voice has a core concept and relies on it entirely. It makes Nishimiya maximally likeable without flaws to make it easy to relate to her. So much it gets unreal. And sure, it's fiction, and I don't reject it solely because of this, but still. If you like the concept, you like the show. If you don't, you are like me. Is this a bad strategy to make a film? Well... no. There are other shows that do the same and many of them are amazing. And in the case of this film it's also not a mistake, the large fanbase proves this. But it'll be a hit-or-miss if they build solely on the viewer's sympathy.
