As with other antacid products, taking this product can mask the symptoms of other more serious, underlying medical conditions. If you forget doses often, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. You could also ask your pharmacist for advice on other ways to help you remember to take your medicine. What if I take too much? Reflux is when stomach acid travels up your food pipe and gives you a burning feeling in your chest. Through the alginate (refined from seaweed), it forms a protective barrier over the stomach contents to soothe the burning sensation in your chest and help prevent reflux. Active ingredients: Each chewable tablet contains 250mg sodium alginate, 106.5mg sodium hydrogen carbonate and 187.5mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredients.

Also contains:xylitol, carmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, macrogol 20,000, mannitol (E421), copovidone, acesulfame-K, aspartame (E951), cranberry flavour, raspberry flavour, fantasy fruit flavour, Potassium and carmoisine lake (E122). The flavours contain sucrose. These medicines are reflux suppressants. They work in the same way as Gaviscon, by reducing acid in your stomach and preventing excess acid escaping into your food pipe. They generally work as well as Gaviscon and have similar side effects. However, they may be given in different doses to Gaviscon.Gaviscon Double Action is the best-selling product in the Gaviscon family 3, and it is effective in providing relief from heartburn and indigestion. Gaviscon Double Action contains calcium carbonate and its unique formulation helps provide effective relief that is up to x2 longer than regular antacids*.

Adults and children 12 years and over, take two to four tablets after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. If you usually take Gaviscon regularly but forget to take a dose, do not double your dose the next time. Just leave out the missed dose and take your next dose as normal. You'll usually take Gaviscon tablets and liquid up to 4 times a day. It's best to take it after meals and at bedtime. This is usually when the pain and discomfort is at its worst. Contains aspartame (E951). If you have phenylketonuria, note that the product is sweetened with aspartame (E951), a source of phenylalanine. Contains carmoisine lake (E122). This medicinal product contains 223.56 mg (9.72 mmol) sodium per 4 tablet dose, equivalent to 11.18 % of the WHO recommended maximum daily intake for sodium. It's safe to take paracetamol at the same time as Gaviscon but do not take ibuprofen or aspirin with it. If you often have heartburn or indigestion, take Gaviscon regularly after meals and at bedtime, up to 4 times a day, whether or not you have symptoms.
